Immediate postoperative period:

- Spend time in the recovery room and then be taken to your room.

How much weight loss can you expect?

Of course. You should order a small amount of food (smaller plate) and eat slowly. Try to finish while his tablemates

What about pregnancy?
Getting pregnant can be easier after losing weight. The menstrual cycle may also become more regular. However, pregnancy is not recommended during the weight loss after surgery (up to 12 months after the operation). Diet:

It is divided into three phases:

- During the hospitalization: No intake in the first 24 hours. Then we started with soups, jellies, tea and juices. (Strict fluid regime)

- Dairy and liquid diet from the 1st week after surgery: It also includes light yogurt, skim milk, cheese and decaffeinated coffee

- Minced food diet from the 5th to the 8th week: Preferably white meats and salads.

- Diet and behavior change: You can eat solid food again, evaluating a phased manner to each food tolerance. Tolerance varies in each patient Remember to eat small amounts and do not force your stomach capacity.

Physical Activity:

- After 14 days you can start moderate activities like treadmill, exercise bike, elliptical, or swimming slowly. You can start by walking slowly for 30 min., 3 times a week. Then gradually increase.

- At 30 days of Postoperative may engage in more intense gym and aerobics, weights, spinning, tennis, football, golf, etc..

Follow-up:

- Must be evaluated by the surgeon within 7-10 days after surgery, then 45 days, 90 days and 6 months. Thereafter an annual visit.

- Nutritionist and Psychologist control: before surgery, before discharge and then once a month. Up to 12 months.

- Nutritional supplements: Chewable vitamins in the first weeks and then eat a daily multivitamin supplements but others indicated by the nutritionist (or) at least 1 year

10 RULES OF SUCCESSFUL OPERATED PATIENTS
(from the 2nd month)
Eat only three meals a day + 2 snacks.
Eat slowly and chew thoroughly (10 to 15 minutes per plate).
Stop eating as soon satisfied me.
Do not drink liquids while I eat solids.
I do not snack between meals.
Eat good quality food.
Avoid high-fiber foods (asparagus, artichokes, corn).
Drink plenty of fluids during the day (between meals).
Drink only low-calorie liquids.
Make at least 30 minutes of exercise a day.
